The Vintage Purse Museum consists of an incredible, real-life collection of handbags, accessories, and ephemera amassed over four decades. We have had an online presence since 2007 and are not affiliated with any other entities that may have the same or similar name. Many of our fabulous items are from the mid-century modern era, and others are much older. There are also some of more recent manufacture, which we like to call "future vintage."
The Vintage Purse Museum is a physical collection, privately housed in Tucson, Arizona. It is also a unique, online-only museum, meaning you may visit anytime via your desktop, laptop, or mobile device from anywhere in the world. The museum is always open and admission is always free. We are constantly researching handbag origins and facts, and adding our findings to our Photo and History Archive. For more info about The Vintage Purse Museum, please see our FAQ at the bottom of our homepage.
In addition to sharing handbag facts and photos with our online audience, we offer in-person purse presentations and exhibits in the Tucson area. Please email vintagepursemuseum@gmail.com regarding an exhibit.
We are in the process of creating The Rolling Vintage (RV) Purse Museum, a mobile handbag exhibit inside a 1961 Aristocrat Land Commander trailer.
We'll let you know when it's ready to hit the road!
