About Us

The Collection

The Vintage Purse Museum consists of an incredible collection of handbags, accessories and ephemera amassed over three decades. Many items are from the mid-century modern era, and others are much older. There are also some of more recent manufacture. Whatever its origins, each handbag is a portable work of art. Please enjoy your visit!

Virtual Reality

The Vintage Purse Museum is a physical collection, privately housed in Tucson, Arizona. It is also a unique, online-only museum, meaning you may visit anytime via your desktop, laptop or mobile device from anywhere in the world. The museum is always open and admission is always free.

Exhibits and Education

Curator Wendy Dager offers talks and exhibits in the Tucson area. She is constantly acquiring information about mid-century handbag makers in order to write historical articles for our photo archive page. Please email info@vintagepursemuseum.com regarding presentations or with information about manufacturers for future articles. We love educating and entertaining our global patrons!

RV Purse Museum

We are in the process of creating a mobile handbag exhibit inside a 1961 Aristocrat Land Commander trailer. The Rolling Vintage (RV) Purse Museum is a self-funded project, and we will keep you apprised of its progress here.
