The Vintage Purse Museum consists of an incredible collection of handbags, accessories and ephemera amassed over four decades. Many items are from the mid-century modern era, and others are much older. There are also some of more recent manufacture. Whatever its origins, each handbag is a portable work of art. Please enjoy your visit!
The Vintage Purse Museum is a physical collection, privately housed in Tucson, Arizona. It is also a unique, online-only museum, meaning you may visit anytime via your desktop, laptop or mobile device from anywhere in the world. The museum is always open and admission is always free.
We offer purse presentations and exhibits in the Tucson area. We are constantly acquiring information about mid-century handbag makers in order to document handbag history for our photo archive. Please email vintagepursemuseum@gmail.com regarding an exhibit or with information about manufacturers for future articles. We love educating our global patrons! For more info, see our FAQs at the bottom of the main page.
We are in the process of creating a mobile handbag exhibit inside a 1961 Aristocrat Land Commander trailer. The Rolling Vintage (RV) Purse Museum is a self-funded project, and we will keep you apprised of its progress here.
